The Insurance Bureau of Canada has welcomed climate change provisions in the Ontario government's long- term infrastructure plan presented by Minister Bob Chiarelli.
Canada's P&C insurers have long called on governments to introduce mechanisms for better land-use planning and more resilient infrastructure invesments to help mitigate the devastating effect that climate change can have on communities.
"The climate provisions are a great example of how governments can take the lead role in helping to make our communities safer, stronger, and more resilient," Insurance Bureau of Canada vp, Kim Donaldson said.
